The 2026 Tacos, Tequila, and Tamales was presented with the goal of uplifting Latino culture, entrepreneurs, artists, and families in our region.Unfortunately, due to a credible threat of ICE enforcement activity in the area, many community members understandably chose not to attend for their own safety. Vendors, performers, and families stayed home out of fear. We fully support and respect those decisions—but the impact on the event was devastating.

Despite months of planning, permitting, marketing, and upfront costs, the event suffered a significant financial loss. We still had to cover expenses for Venue and city permits, Security and safety measures, Equipment rentals and production, Marketing and promotional costs, Staff, contractors, and artist guarantees. In total, we are facing a shortfall of $15,000.

We’ve launched a GoFundMe campaign not just to recover financially, but to ensure that community-led, culturally rooted events don’t disappear because of fear or intimidation. These events matter. They create visibility, economic opportunity, and moments of joy—especially for communities that are too often marginalized. Thank you for believing in community, culture, and courage.
